Stained-glass windows
There are some interesting stained-glass windows of which the gem is immediately to the right
of the Lady Chapel altar. Known as the “Peace” window because it was donated to
commemorate the signing of the Peace Treaty on 28th June 1919, it was designed and made by
A.J. Davies, a member of the esteemed ‘Bromsgrove Guild’.
About half the other windows are also “stained” (painted or coloured in their manufacture) and
are all Victorian, illustrating, for example_
#
the feeding of the 5,000
#
Jesus healing the blind man
#
the raising of Lazarus.
The largest window is the East Window at the top of the Chancel, behind the Altar, and it is
completely plain, giving abundant light and a view up to the hills through its ancient tracery
frame.
